2009 Formula 1 ING Australian Grand Prix (Melbourne)
Just a few day to go to the first race in 2009 season.
Discuss anything (predictions, big crash?, Safety car, lack of pace, surprises...etc etc) will happen in Australian GP this coming weekend. Hoping Hamilton get P1 and Button somewhere on the podium.... then max and bernie just eaten by alligators!!!!!

F1 SEASON IS ALMOST HERE!! I am so @#$@#^@ stoked about practice on thursday night. Plus qualy on friday, and race on saturday. $hit man, just gonna ROCK!!!! Only bummer is that I have to work this weekend, and my chick is outta town with a bunch of MINI owners. So I have to watch the race without her. Sucks, cuz she's really been getting into F1 in the last year. Here are my hopes: Massa and Kimi to wipe up the field Brawn GP comes out swinging and lands 2 cars in the top 6, with Button getting a podium McLaren has massive trouble and qualifies 11th & 14th, then screws the pooch in the race Who knows exactly what will occur, but that's what I hope for. Can't wait to see what actually happens.

Yeah I'm pumped, my buddy and I will be watching the race and trash-talking!
I'm hoping McLaren wasn't sandbagging, and their car seriously is problematic. I'd like to see both cars finish outside the points. I'd like to see Brawn GP land a podium in their first race, and I'm hoping this season shows a revived Heidfeld outpacing Kubica. I am predicting the first crash will involve Williams

shit....a lot McLaren haters...
I want to see something like Spa last year, Kubica vs Kimi in Fuji.....and action packed Australian GP!!! As long as its a good race....and the winner deserves the checker flag (not FIA awarded after the podium ceremony)..... (Deep down i still hope Hamilton win...) p.s. i hope this section wun turns into McLaren vs Ferrari thread(s).....we've got plenty of those all over the internet....

I just hope all these aero changes really help for more passing during the race.

That was their idea for bringing down the speeds, back in 1997. The original idea was to have movable front wings. But, there had been a number of wet weather races, and the powers that be up @ the FIA loved the action. The folks over @ McLaren showed that the same effect as a wet race could be achieved by narrowing the track of the cars by 10%, and limiting the contact patch of the tires. ...and oh yeah, they just happened to win that first race of the year by lapping the entire field!!! Sorry read it in a book, not on the 'net

Looking forward to it tooo!
Not having to sit up till midnight to watch is a big bonus for us Oz people. Check this, I know it is not an M but, having both a 1 and an M it is very interesting. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=242928 Maybe a Tou tube thing post Sunday, unless it is televised of course (not likely). Enjoy the best F1 of the year, cheers. |

Maybe we'll gat to see the same smash-em crash-em fest that we saw last year. Any bets on how long until Massa parks it in the gravel? |
