tint removal

not sure where this topic would go so i thought this section would be good since there's a lot of traffic here. anyway my cousin needs to remove his two front tints since he wants to do them over darker and doesn't want to pay 75 bucks for a pro to remove them. I've actually seen my friend remove his tints with a stream ironer it was quite easy from the looks of it took him about 20 mins for 4 window. the problem is he lives kinda far to borrow it machine and was thinking of using a good ol regular home ironer that produces a lot of steam. Does anyone think I would run into trouble while using a regular ironer? I don't want to fuck up his window lol

from what ive seen my tinter do, steam is needed to get the tint to peel off. then you need a razor blade and soapy water to get all the glue off the window.

Don't use the iron. You don't want to have to deal with the consequences of touching the tint or your interior. Pay the 75 bones or just rent a steamer, or just get the steamer from your buddy.

75 dollars is a good price to get that done. A local shop wanted to charge me 150. I'd let a professional do it to save the aggravation.

If it only costed you 20 bucks thats a great deal. I had to purchase tint adhesive remover and you would have to pay me more then 100 bucks for me to even attempt to remove tint again.

Use windex with amonia to remove old glue works great, and no need for a razor. I just did my e30 with a steamer and windex... Take your time pulling it off and you should be able to do each window in one peice with little glue left behind... Patience pays trust me
