Newbie Question About Sport Package/Suspension
The loaner I have is the same car as mine, but doesn't have the Sport's Package.
My question is, do the cars with the sport's package sit lower? Loaner seems to be quite a bit higher and doesn't scrape my driveway. Thanks!

All coupes have the same suspension, sports package or not.

Like canuck said, the only cars that sit higher are the xdrives. Yes, a vert is a coupe.

she didn't mention which E9x she got as a loaner so I made a general qualifier stating that all zsp-equipped cars sit lower than non zsp-equipped cars except for xDrive models. zsp-equipped xDrive models don't come with sport suspension. And as Tim said, all non xDrive E92 have the same zsp suspension.

OK, wait - sorry. I'm confused....I thought Lion said yes they are lower, and Tim said no, they are all the same, besides x-drive.
So the sport's package equipped cars (excluding x-drive models) DO sit lower? Yes/No. Sorry for the confusion.

E90, non-zsp sits higher than zsp as only the zsp-equipped E90s come with sport suspension.
E91, there's only one version in North America, 328 xDrive, so only one ride height. E92, regardless of zsp or not, same height as sport suspension is standard, except on xDrive. E93, non-zsp sits higher than zsp as only the zsp-equipped E93s come with sport suspension. All xDrive models that are equipped with zsp do not have the sport suspension, they only have the zsp steering wheel and sport seats.

The sportwagon in the previous generation, and current 5-series wagon, can only be ordered with xdrive though.

BMW Canada only offers 1 E91 variant; I had assumed it was the same South of the border.
Here's the general rule of thumb: ride height (going from highest to lowest) = xDrive (aka xi) > regular suspension > sport suspension.

Personally, I never understood the assumption that all wagon owners wanted Xi. Not everybody who needs a wagon to haul family, sports stuff, house supplies, etc also needs AWD.

And, if i undersand correctly, the rear suspension is different on the vert in terms of spring rates due to the extra weight. This is why they don't selll the performance suspension upgrade for the vert from BMW and why there are different versions of aftermarket suspension for verts than coupes.

I agree that BMWNA assumes too much. Plus I guess they thought once you opt for a wagon, you wouldn't want the power of the twin turbo I6
