Buying new manual Vs auto advice please..

Hello there, i am a new member however have been following posts and advice/info for months. You guys are really helpful and im proud to be part of such enthusiasts.
I am about to order a new 330d convertible/cabrio
But still so VERY undecided about what transmission to go for
Ive had an early e60 530d before, engine was great but thot the auto box wasnt great (bear in mind this was auto without paddles 05 plate)
Now im going for the same engine again albeit in 3series guise but am soo undecided because i drove a 320i se and found the clutch so hard and gearchange so clunky.
Dealer says Msport has a shortened gearchange
Is this smoother??
Any experience with auto or manual or advice greatly appreciated

Get a manual if you like to shift gears while driving. I don't like shifting gears in traffic so I got an auto. I also have a 328i so it's not like I'm going to be racing or anything like that so I got the auto for the ease of driving (lazy). If I really wanted to shift and keep my gears, I have paddles to do that with.
