so today i got my first ever limp mode...

it was the scariest shit ever... n i need some experienced advice lol

i dropped off my GF and turned off the car....then after i turned it back on i noticed a reasonably longer crank but not too long, and horrible shaking...sooo horrible...i have also been witnessing some shaking recently on cold starts.

anyway after the insane shake attack, i let go of the brake, and sort of do what comes natural, check my shifter to see if im in P, check my handbrake, then check the dash.
well as i look on the dash i see the half engine picture thing, n on my iDrive it says engine malfunction / reduced power..

so now i begin to shit bricks n all this shit and its embarrassing cuz my GF's mom just parked her car n was walking towards me to say hi and im worried about my car n shit......anyway

turn it off, turn it on.....everything was normal...normal start up no long crank or rattle/shake


so.......what gives? n on Saturday im headed to Vegas....bout 4 hour drive from here so im a little worried....
I cant really take it to the dealer right now.....some things i would need to have taken off my car first -_-

dont bash me ! its not a repost i searched n found NOTHING about a limp mode that went away right away, mine literally lasted 40 seconds and after turning it on it went away like it was never there.

just park your car at home and ask to borrow her mom's car to go to on the trip

if she asks why, just say it's broken

it looks like you having a problem with your fuel pump. Better check it out at the dealership to be on the safe side

really? sooo my next question would to take in to dealer.....or hope it doesnt happen again and wait because i feel like a dufus when i go to dealer and there is nothing wrong with my car at the moment !

Yep Fuel pump for sure...what year is your car?

As for your question...your going to Vegas guess you like to gamble so you could gamble taking that long trip... but I wouldnt take that bet - GET to car dealer today!

is a 08 running on jb2 for about 2 months now.
but i mean does a slow crank / shaking really mean fuel pump issue?
It cant be something else?
