Heavily mod my 335i or purchase a collector?
So I have been having a dilemma in the past few months. I have been stuck between heavily modding my 335i or purchasing some sort of collector car. Either one I would be happy with, but I think I am leaning toward collector car.
modding would include full exterior body upgrade (something like mtech), rims, drop, possible turbo upgrade since im close to ASR, LSD, DPs, meth injection, etc... collector car is yet to be determined but i already have some ideas. which would you do and why? cheers!

Appreciating v. depreciating asset.
Sounds simple to me.

Really depends on the collector car to me... Although 335i's are very nice when completley modded . Pretty good performance when coupled with a chip intercooler, downpipes etc. But to go as far as turbo upgrades on this car to me is a TAD bit waste of time . Why not go with something that's much faster to begin with and then mod that car. Hell why not do away with the 335i and the collector car and get yourself a C6 Z06.

haha collector seems to be the consensus already...as I expected. I'm not that old so I can't do anything crazy yet but I am thinking a '66 Lincoln Continental convertible

Is your 335i your DD , or is it just your drive when u feel like it car? If 335i is your DD i don't think its a good move in this economy to be selling your car and looking for a collector, that most likely you will have to sink a lot more money in to make it what u really want... I'm still sticking with selling you car and getting a Z06 LOL.

I like the '64 model myself - different tail lights, more elegant IMO

'67 or '64 GTO would be my suggestion. I wouldn't go with a depreciating asset when I could have one that may even head in the opposite direction.
Depends on exactly what you're using it for. If you can really get something old and be satisfied with the upkeep and not using it too much, get a collector. If not, get a newer car. |

I personally am trying to make my DD into a collector car and trying to replace that with a better daily driver...
If i didnt have a e46 I would prob be looking for a mint condition TT supra as well like the person mention before. But expect to pay 30-40K for a mint condition one that has less than 90K mileage on it. Another collectible I was also considering is a rx7 |

Collector car hands down. It will be in your stable longer, you will have a greater joy of having a car that is not that common.
