Dulles 28 Auto Wash - Horrible - STAY AWAY
Today, the weather was kinda chilly. I decided to go for a carwash instead of home hand wash. I usually go to another Carwash, but decided to support this new business next to Ferrari of Washington by the name of Dulles 28 Auto Wash Located at 45215 Towlern Drive, Dulles, Virginia 20166 , Phone Number 7034211070 , www.dulles28autowash.com What a bad mistake!!
I always ask at the door, if my car will fit and if there will be any problems with it since it's lowered. The guy charing and the people at the wash that direct you all gave thumbs up. I re-questioned a few times, "Are you Sure?" just to make sure. Paid and started going torward the lane. I slowly drive the car up the ramp and looking at the direction the dude is giving me and bang my Carbon Fiber Splitters hits and break. I come out, and the guy who was directing me in comes up with some Bull sh1t about my car is lowered and it should not had been there. Story short, after calling the manager out and the owner, they did not take responsibility even after I made sure right before buying the wash that my car would fit. She wouldn't even refund my wash, that I didn't get and that was a conversation of it's own. STAY AWAY! Horrible Service, a $10 wash turned into a loss of $700 worth of Carbon Fiber CSL Splitters, still a dirty car and stress. __________________

I drive by that place all the time...never washed my car there, though.
Sorry that happened to you. That's painful just hearing that story.

sorry to hear that dude, that really sucks....
Wished the owner/manager would take more responsibility. Owning a business your'e supposed to be building relationships with your customers, not tarnishing them... AND this car wash was next to the Ferrari Dealership...

and...
I don't even try to take my 15 yr old car to a car wash for this exact reason. My car probably isn't as low as yours, but I had this happen a few years ago at an unfamiliar beach car wash. Even though it only put a small nick in the plastic part of my front bumper, I said never again. Sorry to hear.

I use the manual car washes when my yard is muddy or I need extra light. Costs like three bucks. Id never try an auto one.

I'm sorry but you get what you pay for, especially a ten dollar car wash. Even if you didn't break anything all you would have done was swirls the paint. I do feel your pain but go find a brushless/touchless car wash.
If the cold is bothering you and you need a wash, bring it by my house. I have several waterless washes and several no rinse washes that work well.

A buddy recently took his Audi S4 there before going to CarMax for an appraisal. He was quite pleased with the results and would use them in the winter months or when there isn't enough time for a handwash.

The laser touchless ones are 95% open bay with the goofy arm that swings around. I still wouldn't trust any car wash to wash any of my vehicles. My F-150 beater doesn't even get that sort of treatment.

damn that sucks, my family owns a carwash in crofton and we never had problems with lowered and lifted cars. our rack is big enough for 22" rims to fit through. we have a detailing service also.

do they post a sign or something that lowered cars and 22" rims fit? if thats the case, i'm sure that many people would like to know and feel comfortable they can use that car wash without any problems.

Actually, I took my car to this place close by called SUDS Car Wash in Ashburn...they did and excellent job! Customer service is great and the owner is pretty young and is a car enthusiast himself. Normally, I'll hand wash my cars as well, but if I'm feeling lazy, I'll take it there. Just my .02.

I never use the automated car washes. If they're on a feeder system, there's too much wheel risk and there's too much variance with the kids at the end with the towels. Its not good to associate with the dirty towel kid that has no love for clearcoat.
If they're drive-through, the quality is usually terrible. Wax applications are spotty and the air dry systems typically do a 75% job.

Yea, thank you for the heads up and that's quite unfortunate that your CSL splitters got rocked. Beautiful car

There was a 4 page thread a while back about the best washes in the area. Pro-clean of Tyson's is $25, but they have a heated garage and a single guy hand washes/vacuums your car. Takes 20 minutes and they do a perfect job. Great for the winter months

Why? Clay-barring doesn't remove scratches/swirls.
Common misconception though.
