Biodiesel? In a BMW?

Has anyone here ever thought about the idea of converting an E92 or E90 to run on biodiesel?

An interesting point in the NY Times story is that veggie oil tank sits in the the well for the spare tire. If one has a BMW on run-flats, it seems like a BMW would be a good fit for something like this.

Ive heard the new technology diesel engines are too sensitive for the stuff.
But it works fine on older diesels, especially old trucks

Oh really? That's too bad if it's true. But it seems that a number of people have converted recent Jetta and Passat TDIs to run on this stuff.

Trying to provide link, but site won't load. I can get to the Greasecar.com site, but for some reason (high traffic?), I can't get the URL for the profiles of cars converted to run on waste vegetable oil. But there are current model Jettas that have been done. There is at least one B5.5 Passat and a number of B5 Passats as well.
