How do you turn off the car?

Only had my 330i (with CA) for a few weeks and noticed that when turning off the car, if I press the Stop button quickly, the engine will shut off, but all the electronics stay on (Radio Rediness, I think it's called). However, if I hold down the stop button for a few seconds, everything will shut off (engine and electronics). I usually do the latter because it's still very strange for me to get out of the car and close the door while the radio is playing. I know everything will shut off when I lock the car, but it's still feels very bizarre. How does everyone else with CA turn off their car?

I have CA with manual trans. Press the button once, engine shuts off, radio stays on. Press button again (clutch not depressed), everything shuts off.

i usually hit the stop button once, shut door and lock with ca. what do u mean weird? what's the problem with listening to music while u get out of car and lock it from outside?

I think you just leave it running. It will stop eventually all by itself. Now that's convenience

I think it's weird to leave the music on. It hold it until it all turns off.

Same here, I've actually drained my battery 2x because of this and needed a jump (my lights i think were on one of those times). both of the times it wasn't turning the car off but turning just the electronics on, thinking i turned it off but it wasn't really off), got out, locking the door, and leaving thinking the radio would turn off automatically when i locked the car.

I don't have CA and my engine turns OFF with the first push of the button. The radio stays ON until I remove the key. If I push the button while the radio is ON and the clutch is out, the radio turns OFF and the iDrive screen goes to the big BMW display for about 3-5 seconds and then blanks out. If I remove the key with the radio ON the BMW display comes on immediately and 3-5 seconds later blanks out.
