don't be cheap with your mods, either do it right by buying quality products or DON'T do it at all. I don't see the point of buying cheapass shit, you end up with wacked products and waste your money at the end; sort of defeats the purpose of being cheap, no?

Well things i can think off the top of my head why its not a good idea..

1.You do not know if the maf placement is tuned to the extra airflow could result in loss of hp bad gas mileage and a cel.

2. fitment if it starts rubbing on metal parts in your engine bay not good

But looking at the pics a second time it looks as the piping is tuned right after the filter this could be an exact Replica of a injen intake and i can bet the maf was measured to the same height as well if indeed it is a replica.

Many of the eBay products are direct copies of the more expensive stuff. Now there are a lot of products I wouldn't trust getting off eBay, but something like an intake pipe and filter would be fine, and I've used $40 cool air intakes on other cars that were exactly the same as the $180 models, and made the same HP on the dyno. Chances are, it's made in the same chinese factory that makes the namebrand stuff you pay lots of money for.

Ive bought intakes from ebay before on my Nissan Maxima and it worked fine no problems for 3 years and still running strong. It was about 30-40 dollars. I can say the filter was good too, lasted almost the full 3 years until it got so dirty i replaced it rather then cleaned it cuz i'm lazy. However i think i'm gonna buy the intake and have a run with it and if anything happens or i'm not satisfied with the product i only paid 80 bucks(Which i can prob get the price down when i email the guy). The quality issue isn't really an issue, the other name brand intakes just have a name that you are paying for because the materials are more or less the same. I don't feel like paying 300-400 dollars for 1 foot of aluminum pipe, heat shield and a cone filter. Don't get me wrong having an "Injen" or "AFE" or w/e is cool cuz u can say u got it but in the end the intakes are the same just have a name behind it. Anyways i posted this cuz i wanted to see if anyone did it before me to check it out first but i guess no one did. I'll do it soon enough and let you guys know. Peace
