I got laid off at the end of March. Here's the thread I made.
I was fortunate to find a new job after 4 weeks - pretty quick in this market. And as an added bonus, so far I'm MUCH happier at the new job.

I'm really tired of the Government/Contracting world. Way to much political BS and secretive crap all the time but it's all I know.

I'll take your place in contracting. My Dad is DCMA and has kind of been trying to get me on for a year since I got laid off of my tax accountant job. In the meantime I've been making crappy paychecks at a job I hate applying for stuff here and there and never hearing a word back. On top of that I am getting a little sick of Seattle's BS weather and really lackluster bitches. Oh and I took a girl home from the bar Saturday. The highlight of the whole encounter was when she left! (Good sucker though)

I enjoy the hell out of it. The job is too easy and the money is great. Maybe being in AZ it's far different.

My wife got laid off on Christmas Eve. =(
Hasn't found a new job yet, but she hasn't been looking too hard since she is 8 months now. I'm hoping she decides not to go back to work when the baby is born, but right now she is insisting on it. |

Laid off day before x-mas eve. Took a good 2+months for unemployment to kick in, after 4 telephone interviews. I have been looking for a job for months now. Very hard to live off of $280 every 2 weeks. Currently in the process of becoming an assistant and Best Buy. If all goes well I should be making 13+/hr which is more than enough for a college student.
