Home Depot

Don't waste your time buying online because the shipping charges will kill you and there is more risk of damage during shipping. Congrats on the new place and ...Good luck

look for a sears appliance outlet, they are not far from you, I just googled it. You can get really good deals if they happen to have what you want, it is a bit of a pain, but qiute a bit cheaper.

its not a sears, its a sears outlet, they have out of box stuff, display stuff, often way cheaper. It may have a scratch on the side, (just make sure its the side that goes against the wall) but way cheaper. I got my stainless fridge, stainless oven/range, washer and dryer there, for about half of retail in some cases.

I'm closing on my new house next month. Bought all my appliances at Best Buy. They seemed to be better than Sears for prices.

Wouldn't the first step be determining the best brands of the various appliances for your needs before trying to find the best price?

I'm hoping to be in the same boat as the OP in the next several months.

OP: IT DEPENDS if you want high end vs mid range
sears is perfectly good enough for midrange to semi high end appliances..they have it all from cheap to somewhat pricey and alot of their stuff has modern looks to..now if you want high end stuff like sub zero fridges and wolf ranges i youd have to go to a botique or local distributor...but go to sears first you might be surprised at what you find, go to your hardware store and pick up one of those home magazines, they are essentially advertisement pamphlets for local appliances stores and such

i have set a $10,000 budget for the initial appliances.
the builder has included only the oven-cooktop/microwave and dishwasher
so what i need now from the $10K is:

fridge
washer/dryer
couch/table for living
tv for living
dining table set

other furniture/appliances can buy along the way

so i guess the budget seems reasonable?

And good financing too a lot of the time (0% for 18 months, or something like that). I use Best Buy all the time for stuff like this, and bank all the reward zone points until Christmas. Last year it covered about half the cost of a flatscreen TV for my parents.

There was a 2-day period that Best Buy had 10% off LG and 36 months no interest back in January, so I ordered about 3K worth of appliances. I wish I ordered 5K worth because I want a new range and dishwasher.

I was in there today.

I took my own advice/ recommendation and bought a microwave and a dishwasher at Best Buy today

LG appliances are on sale this weekend (10% Off) but I recommend reading their individual reviews before deciding on purchasing one. I have had a LG side-by-side refrigerator for the past two years and it's been working like a charm. No problem whatsoever.

Best Buy is like a crack house for me.

I had ran up about $4k on my Reward Zone card at one point, and I had to have a small intervention on myself. It was all at zero interest, but that's a lot of money for me to have on a card an it was making me nervous. I'm happy to say that I have my addiction under control, but I was in there this morning and there's this Netbook that's calling my name.

Dishwasher : Samsung - Model No. DMR78AHS

Microwave : G.E. - Model no. JVM1750SMSS
(Had to match the G.E. Oven range I already have)

Good luck ...

I like that dishwasher. I'm definitely getting one with hidden buttons. I haven't decided yet on one like that or a double drawer.

Best Buy is doing 15% off each appliance when you buy 3 or more today online. Go into the store and they will match that offer. To Best Buy I go.

Nice day at Best Buy and Lowes (see Paint thread). Just got all new Whirlpool appliances minus the LG fridge and washer and dryer I bought in January.
