I just got a steal of a DELL laptop. 80GB HDD, duo Centrino Processor, burns DVDs and CDs and a 14.1" screen, brand new for $730. Not one problem and I know I will get another one again.

ive tried to enjoy macs (actually they have some great 3rd party programs besides the stock ones), but generally the OS feels bloated to me. this is partly due to handling a 800mhz g4 imac and g4 powerbook. theres joy in experiencing a nicely laid out OS with handsome widgets, but i noticed somehow I don't get as much work done...
im also a freelance graphic designer and prefer to design on pc since I don't like how macs use helvetica standard and text smoothing. |

I've used PC's pretty much all my life, with the exception of my first computer an Apple II C way back when i was a child. I would switch to Mac if they start running windows which i guess they will now that Intel is gonna be in Mac's. My issue is just that there is so much more software available for PC's and i tinker with all sorts of things that its just much more of a standard (Windows).
I used to do graphic design though, and the rendering and results certainly appeared better on a G4 than Pentium computers.

I got both Mac and PC. I am retiring my PC now.
PC's require too much maintenance. Defrag once a week. Delete spyware once a week. Fresh install once every 6 month. Reboot once every few days. Last time I rebooted my Mac was 4 month ago and it still runs the same as the day I bought it. Now with Boot Camp, I run Windows on my Mac. Bye bye Dell!!! BTW, the new Mighty Mouse is an official Apple product with two buttons and a scroll wheel! |

I use PCs professionally, but have always loved Macs and have had one of just about every generation of them. I just got a new Intel MacMini and it kicks the crud out of all of my PCs. If I didn't have to keep PCs for work purposes, I'd get rid of every PC I own.
But really, even BMW drivers need to have a beat up pickup truck to haul trash occasionally. That's how I look at it, anyway.

I use my PC for the net, music, movies and gaming. If it weren't for the gaming I'd probably consider a mac, but as it is now, you can't really game on a mac. Maybe it will change with intel chips in macs now, but it hasn't yet.

i've always had a pc in my house since i was in elementry school. in the early years of elementry school, the computer lab had a bunch of trash 80's (tandy/radioshack) and a few apple IIe's. if you were lucky, you'd get to use the apple. at home it was always a pc and all my friends except one friend had a pc. that one friend had an apple. fast forward to high school, and our computer lab was full of macs. this was a time period when schools could get macs for really cheap. i never liked using them, and would always type up my reports and what not at home. the computer labs in college had both pc's and macs. there would always be a wait for pc's, but a lot of open mac stations. i still got a pc at home and use one at work too.

i use it all but i do all my development and work on my powerbook and have no intentions of going back. Luongo stated it perfectly, no need to do all windows maintenance crap or have 50 million services running in the background trying to cover all MS security holes and eating up 70% of available resources.
i asked this before but no one seemed to respond, anyone going to the WWDC in SF next week? I am!!
