not a good day...got a nasty ticket today :(

just got my first ticket in over 3 years. alleged 91 in a 60, which is a little more complicated of a ticket than regular speeding. i had just picked up my car from bmw service, too. oh well, i'm not here to say the cop was an asshole or i didn't do it, because i was speeding...these things just suck. hope the judge has a little mercy and reduces the ticket to a regular speeding ticket, i don't want to pay the yearly license surcharge again.

as 2 motorcycles doing wheelies fly by, the cop said "if you would have been behind them, you probably wouldn't be talking to me right now." thanks, pal.

Ouch, you're lucky you didn't get arrested. Tickets suck...I just got one recently that I have to go to court for. I hope it doesn't turn out bad.

Good luck with yours.

This is my 3rd ticket in a year, so I might have to get a lawyer to fight this one.

well first course of action is to reset the trial date a few times, delay delay delay, then go to court and hope the cop doesn't show up. if he's there, then you just try to make a plea agreement...my no contest for a lower charge of just regular speeding. i'll take the 2 points on my license because speeding over 10% of the posted limit is a greater charge that will result in all kinds of fuckery.

Dude, you should be able to just take the driving class. Oh wait. Nevermind. You were doing over 25 over. The cop wouldn't give you 85? What an asshole.

If you have Allstate, your premium won't increase because of the ticket.

You can also plead guilty and ask the judge for traffic school. I did that for a 95 mph ticket and i got off relatively easy

yea well at least my brake job was free under bmw maintenance plan, otherwise that would have been a really expensive brake job!

Why dont you call them right now and the officer ID # will be on the ticket. Explain to him who you are and tell him he wrote down the wrong speed on the ticket.

Btw, do you have a radar detector?

yea but it was useless. he had literally just finished handing another person a ticket, his lights weren't even off yet, and he flipped on his KA band radar right as i saw him. it literally went from 0 warning to full warning instantly. i have a passport 9500i and i usually get miles of warning, but not this time.

damn you guys are lucky. Your cops use KA..

Well I live in San Francisco and anywhere near SF, the cops use laser.. Only area out of the Bay Area is where they use KA..

Time to invest into laser/radar jammer?

state troopers don't use laser much, but city cops rely on it almost 100% of the time. i fear the laser very much, but i was nabbed by KA.

Not sure what your state laws are, but here in California, I postpone, postpone, postpone. Plead not guilty, pay the fine and set a trial date. 10 business days before trial date, go in and file a request to move the date (you can't attend for some specified reason) and then they allow you to choose your date that you can attend. Mine somehow always falls on the Friday of a holiday weekend which= a no show. GL

Ouch.. it is vice versa here in SF. City use KA, highway use laser/KA

The 9500i does very well with KA for sure...

Anyways, good luck..
