Recent cosmetic surgery
Went down to Avio Piombetti's shop to get some cosmetic surgery done on the Porsche. Needless to say Avio is the best.
Before and after pics. First pic is from my cellphone. My car had some nice company for the hospital stay; I should have washed it |

You gotta love the 993 wide hip-look.

Thanks for the compliment. I really posted to show the irony of my little 'cheapo' P-car in relation to those money rollers. It's all relative, I guess. Remember when you got your first car? If you were like me, you got some little banger that you thought was the coolest thing in town. Otherwise I'm really not into showing off my cars. And in this part of the world, there are always cars way, way better than mine. Hey, I'm even about to debadge the E63 I got and strip off the AMG logos. No need to advertise. Also, Avio Piombetti is a master craftsman (he's the man in the pic looking over the RR coupe; the suicide doors lived up to their name and the passenger side had been sprung back denting the back panel.) The turbo ducts are truly functional. They do bring in air but who knows where it really goes. To really take advantage of the design, you have to put in some tubing duct to feed the brakes and the oil cooler. It's a PITA to do although I have a DIY step-by-step printout. But no reason, really, for my driving. The brakes hardly fade and with so much oil in the tank it stays cool even in hot weather. I did this just to get rid of the dull looking foglights, the USA spec bumperettes, the headlamp washers, and put in full Euro clear corners. To clean things up. I also filled the plate holes and got a tow hook plate holder (need front plates in CA; they'll ticket even if the car is parked.) http://promountequipment.com/item1.html And yeah, I sold my E350 to a relative of mine. I picked up a new (left over 2009) E63 last week. I'm spoiled for a comfortable DD cruiser but the smaller V6 was just too sleepy for me. This one helps keep me awake and yet still comfy. |

993 is looking good. I don't have a front plate on either vehicle. I put one on the dash/glass when I travel. Highway patrol are not as "busy" as Dallas cops.
Take it easy! |

I think the 4s like this one had wider rear fenders than the 2s versions, so it looks even better!
