Setting off car alarms in the garage
Ok, has anyone here noticed that they set off car alarms in parking garages? I swear every other time I give drive around the garage at least one car alarm goes off and I feel like a ricer lol. I don't know, maybe they just set their alarm sensitivity to high? Or maybe the exhaust just has the right pitch to set them off for some reason? Anyone else have this problem?

It doesn't have to be in parking garages. In my neighborhood, which is pretty ghetto, there are a ton of cars with their alarm sensitivity set to high. So, if a plane flies overhead, they go off. Or, if a car with loud bass drives by, the same thing happens. Since there are a ton of cars here with a ton of bass, and a lot of cars with highly sensitive alarms... it's all a viscious cycle.
EDIT: and I don't understand... the cars with the most sensitive alarms are on the shittiest of cars. One car here, doesn't even start!

I seriously doubt its the exhaust causing the alarms to go off; the stock BMW exhaust is fairly quiet. It is more likely the vibrations from your car driving on the relatively unstable ground of the parking garage. Perfect example, stand in place while a few cars drive past you in a parking garage and you will feel a slight movement of the ground. This combined with the overly sensitive alarms that people have installed equals false alarms as you drive by.

sorry, haven't notice it. i was able to do it at times with my e34, probably because of the exhaust.
