Should I tint my Car????

Whats up Guys, I live here in Miami, and its known to get VERRY VERRY hot here...so when i get inside my car since I have black interior it gets even hotter but i like the way the car looks with out tints because it keeps the car looking clean. I am only considering it because the car is black and im thinking of blacking out the whole car, so should i tint up the car to make it look all black...your suggestion are appreciated. Thanks.

Look at some of the other Bimmers in hot areas, the tints they have done. The cars look great, but I guess the function of the tints is pretty effective too.

Nice car, congrats!

uhh tints wont make a black car cooler since the black of the car itself absorbs alot of sunlight

The purpose of tint is to reduce uv light which are harmful to you. It also help cool the interior for folks who live in hot hot hot place. For a dark car, would it help? I say a little bit help, I used to own black car and it sure is hot...

Well just beeing that the car is black already make it hotter, but I would also like the tints to block sunlight while driving. And it does help some bit keeping it cool.

if anything get it for looks... and yeah for driving. it does block out unwanted light while ur actually in the car... but if you park and leave it in the sun... it wont do much if anything at all.

Just tint it, as dark as you think you can get away with. It REALLY makes a big difference in eye comfort, especially if you ever drive with the sun at your back or sides... also, it helps a lot with a$$holes with brights behind you, even if you have electrochromic mirrors. It looks cooler, and it's effective. will it cool the car sitting in the sun? maybe a couple of not-noticable degrees, but hey, it's sure not going to make the car HOTTER, right?

If tinting is not a viable option for you maybe consider those solar power fans. I don't know how effective they are though?

I'm also considering tinting my windows... I have a black 335i on order w/ saddle brown interior. I don't want to totally black out the cars appearance, but I do like the tinted window look on a black car... My concern is that I use my car for business and didn't want to make the car look like a young kids car with mods, rims, and blacked out windows... Don't get me wrong...there is a side of me that loves the individuality of mods when done right, but I need to take a conservative approach.

My question is what % tint would people recommend that will almost provide that clean, almost factory look on a black car?

35%+. Also tinting windows helps to protect your leather from harmful UV light. I have also found that cars with tint don't struggle as much to keep the interior at a comfortable temperature, especially when it is blistering hot.

The poll is 35 to 4 in favor. Take a look at my garage (now that I've figured out how to do that) for 35% tint on Black Sapphire.

On some photos, the tints look lighter than they do in real life. Here's a good representation of how they look: http://www.e90post.com/forums/e90gar.../966/tempa.jpg

I like it, and would not go darker than 35%. For those who are more into the bling aspect of Bimmers, not that there is anything wrong with that, you might want to go darker if your state allows.

Tint, but don't black anything else out. You'll get a Vader-complex -- I speak from experience...

BTW, tint helps mucho with the heat...

You'd think this would be a no brainer. Since you want/need the motivation, get your damm windows tinted.
