Took my 330i 6mt into the dealer for an engine problem....

-3,200 miles on my 2006 330i 6mt

I was having a weird engine noise randomly coming on and off. It almost sounded as if a belt was loose. It made an odd "Whirring" noise.

Dropped it off on Friday, got a call today from the SA telling me they were not able to isolate the problem. He said it might be the "tension belt", I think he said tension belt...some part with "tension" in it. He asked for my permission to let the senior tech drive it tomorrow to see if he can re-produce the problem I've been having.

I doubt they'll be able to reproduce it. Anyone else have this problem?

Nah sorry about that. Maybe they cant solve it and give you a new ride. Either way i hope it works out for you.

No..definitely not that.

This was a LOUD buzzing/slapping/whistling sound. It kind of sounded like the engine was going to fall apart.

May be because you are shifting at the wrong points. Did you ever get that down or are you still getting beat by minvan sleepers?

It's possible...but I doubt it. I've actually gotten my shift points down pretty well.

I actually beat up on a toyota corolla the other day

Just got off the phone with my SA.

He said they weren't able to duplicate the problem with my particular car. However, another person had a similar problem I was reporting and replacing the "tensioner belt" fixed the problem. So he said they would just be replacing that for me.

I'm really itching to get my car back, this Lincoln Town Car is starting to get annoying..lol

C'mon, a Town Car....it's a classic!! And they won't be making them for much longer!!!

Sorry about your 330i being sick....hope they can isolate the problem and fix it soon!

lol, honestly it's a really awesome car. Very smooth and I feel like I own the road in such a big body sedan...but I miss my babyyyy.

Hopefully I should get it back today.
