ACS Boot lid spoiler lifting off / getting loose problem.
i know quite a few of you e90 mod fans have installed boot lid spoilers. I installed my ACS boot lid spoiler 3 months ago and now the right corner (20% of length of the spoilier) is getting loose/lifting. i used the ACS glue adhesive which my spray shop guy insists is the reason for adhesive failure. what is the best glue for the job? silicone glue? betalink (BMW orig glue)
Any other e90 guys who have the same prob with the ACS boot lid spoiler? Shoud i just glue the corner back or redo the entire thing? would appreciate some advice. thanks guys. Last edited by climkt; 08-15-2006 at 07:56 PM.. |

i suggest redo the entire thing, use betalink this time
if the corner lifts off coz of the acs glue then there might be a chance that the whole spoiler is gonna come loose too betalink is well known for its strength so hopefully it'll solve ur problem bro

Yes, Betalink is damn permanent. Once you put it on, it'll stick forever.

i have since sorted out my lifted corner of my ACS boot lid spoiler. brought it back to the orig shop yesterday and the guy pumped in pressurised black silcone sealant into the undersurface of the lifted part of the spoiler.seems to work for now. he assured me if it got loose again , he will redo the entire thing. thanks everyone.

hi guys, my prob with the spoiler has resurfaced again. The right corner is still lifting up. i have lost confidence in the first workshop and bought it to another shop to redo the entire thing.
I guess spraying the lid spoiler is the easy part. getting it glued on and sticking permanently is the more challenging issue. |

hi normanh, thanks. that is what the second workshop guy is using. nice to see your ACS boot lid spoiler on your 320si. most people stick to the original, conservative e90 boot lid spoiler.
