Anyone have experience with Dodge Vipers
So I've always dreamed of owning one of the early Dodge Vipers (preferably a GTS) since I was a kid. It was one of the first cars I remember liking other than the F40 so I think this is a little more realistic thing to dream about owning. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them...? I'm just toying with the idea right now and it would take a good bit of time to reach my goal but wanted some impressions. Just looking for a fun weekend car obviously...

A friend is a Viper nut. 3 of them at home. He has an older one he trying to unload FYI.
You can also just about steal them right now from guys having the need for cash and or to shut the Mrs's up. The few I have been in all I remember is how f'n hot I was either driving or riding. Raw and nasty...it's your car. |

it's been several years since the last time i drove one (SRT-10 conv), it's hot, loud, mean, and just down right nasty. probably the only car i've ever driven that i felt a lil scared in.
pretty interesting experience but i dont think i'd ever own one.. but that's just me. it's a freakin beast though and takes big time skillz and tolerance to live with one. |

Anyone on here owned one? Or know what to look out for as far as purchasing one?
I know its a nasty, raw car but I've always dreamed of owning one... and I think it would be a fun car to own for weekends and track days. |

I had a chance to drive my friends SRT10 and it was bloody scary. The best thing to do is test drive one and see if you can handle it. You can read all the reviews and get input from owners but it's a car you need to drive yourself to get a feel for it. And no doubt it's one hot looking car which would be great for the weekends and the track but it's a very raw car; it has no safety features unless you include the seat belt lol and if you're not careful, a quick ride around the block could mean a Viper wrapped around a pole.

Dad used to have one ... The car was defnitley fast but as everyone else has stated already ,hot ,uncomfortable, noisy ,raw ride. to say the least the car was sold only a month later. . Honest opinion if you are looking for a car in that class im going to say Z06 > All. Dad also had one of those and truthfully it was just as fast, and did so without the all the drawbacks like the viper had.

Friends dad had one. Be careful getting out of the thing. I burned the isht out of my leg on the exhaust since it is right below the door sill.
