Congrats on the kid. One thing you'll find (or maybe are finding out now) is that names you think are cool and unique are incredibly popular, way more popular than you realized.
There's a book of baby names that's a little different than the others, where it's a survey of peoples' reactions to names -- i.e., "How would you picture [NAME]?" It's better than the typical baby name book. It's like the "baby name survey" book or something. Find it in your library. I'll follow that book's format and give you my reactions. FWIW, I like traditional names (Michael, James, Thomas, Christopher, John etc.). 1. Tyler Sounds southern, too trendy, also used as a girl's name. 2. Dylan Too trendy, more popular a few years ago. 3. Corey Sounds 80s. Don't like it. 4. Brandon Sounds 90210s. 5. Darren Not bad, though it reminds me of Bewitched (Darrin). 6. Jordan Not bad. For a girl. 7. Bradley I like it. 8. Ethan I like it, though it's unbelievably popular right now for boys. 9. Brendan I like it. My favorites on your list are #8 and #9. FWIW, every single one sounds WASP-y to me.
