AFE Intake Fit on E90 328 - Fitting Issue during Install

I just installed an AFE Intake in my E90 328xi. Install was pretty easy, especially considering that I have very little background with this kind of stuff. However, as I lowered hood, I noticed that one of the screws from the heat shield was touching the hood liner. I took the car for a spin and fell in love with the sound and increase in throttle response, but I'm concerned about the shield touching. Is this something to be worried about? If need be, what should I do to fix this issue? Thanks!

I would have to see a pic, but you should make sure things are adjusted and rotated correctly so that the intake sits as fas down into the engine bay as possible, but if that doesn't help maybe you could use some of those plastic covers they use for the screws on your rear license plate to cover the head of the screw and prevent any rubbing against the hood liner.

Would it be a bad idea to cut away a small 1"x1" piece of the fender liner if the intake is as "deep" is possible in the engine bay?

It doesn't sound like an issue but can you post a photo so we can check over the install?

No it should not be touching anything. The top metal piece (the one with the logo on it) should be sitting at about the same height as your stock intake. Reseat the CAI, it should fit perfectly.

I will post pictures tonight when I get home from work, in the meantime, I'm going to re-seat it to see if there was some kind of problem.

Edit:
Sorry, won't have an opportunity to take any pictures until the weekend. Maybe someone can look at it during BMW Fest East. Thanks all.
