Should i get this pc?

Hey guys, I am just wondering what you guys think about this PC.
Here are the specs for it:
Intel Core i7 920
Processor Speed: Core I7 2.66 GHz
RAM: 12GB DDR3 SDRAM
Hard Drive Speed/Capacity: 1TB 7200RPM
Optical Drives: 18x DVD+/-R/RW SuperMulti Drive
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX285
Pre-loaded Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit

and i think sound blaster (built-in) sound card. i saw it at the store today with the sticker on the shell.
I think the pricing is fair too, but I am just not too sure about the reliability of the brand (gateway). I am not a computer nerd, but i want a decent gaming pc. I am in Canada, so this is not in usd.

That's a beast of a computer! If you have the money to spend, sure that computer looks great. You'll probably be able to run any game for the next 1-2 years. The only downside I could think of with this computer is that it doesn't have 2 PCIexpress slots, which prevents you from getting another graphics card of the same type to 'double' the power.

But if you want to build your own computer (which IMHO is funner and cheaper), I would advise everyone to wait a little while. Intel has/is creating a new generation of processors including the Core i7. They will, most likely, drop in price soon and better stronger models will come out. Then again, you can always expect better and cheaper things from any item.

not a bad price man! good stuff, hoping you're getting warranty with this!

Very similar to the comp I built last year, except I spent $2k (the sound card was $200, I have 2TB hard drives in raid 0, and a bigger case/PSU
