Computer Failure

Hi folks:

Two weeks ago I got my car back from BMW dealer and I found the power to be extremely weak/nonexistent on my ’07 328 with 44k miles. The dealer had upgraded the software on my car to the latest version.

I drove the car for about 1000 miles and finally took it to the dealer early this week for lack of power. It would barely move and had to shift between 4000-5000 rpm for any torque. I know the peak torque is at 2750 rpm.

I got a call today saying that the computer on the car has failed and that they are waiting for approvals before changing out the entire computer system.

Anyone heard of this before or any experience about this?

Luckily I am under warranty so no cost!

I'm sure it has happened before. It is a computer after all. They can break for the simplest reasons. Luckily you are under warranty.
