I'm sure someone would argue that cardinal is not a color but according to my dictionary, while it doesn't state it explicitly, it does allude to it as, "fr. its color, resembling that of the cardinal's robes" in regards to a crested finch.

OK you got me on that one. I had no idea that could be a color. There was a few questionable ones I didn't add. A few teams named rainbows that I didn't know if that's considered a color or series of colors?
