Does this lease offer seem a little high to you?
Here's the lease offer I was given from BMW of Bridgeport if I take part in their "Pull ahead program" for early turn in on my 2007... for a 2009 328i Coupe it seems a little high.. I guess that's just the nature of leases today perhaps? I don't have the MSRP or Invoice or Money Factor, he did not provide me with them...this is a priced out car, not one in inventory.
2009 328i Coupe - Alpine White - Black Leatherette - Glacier Silver Aluminum Trim - 6 Speed Manual Transmission - M Sport Package w/ Park Distance Control, 19" 225m Style wheels - Premium Hi-Fi Audio Lease Details: 36 months 12,000 Miles / year First Payment: $447.79 + Security: $0.00 + Cap Red: $2,700.00 + Tax on Cap Red: $162.00 + Acquisition Fee: $925.00 + DMV Fees: $170.00 + Doc Fees: $499.00 + Other Fees: $0.00 + DMV / Doc Tax: $40.14 + Tax on Fees: $55.50 = Cash Due on Lease: $4,999.42 - Trade Equity to COD: $0.00 = Total Cash Due on Delivery: $4,999.42 So unless I pay $5,000 at signing (I was hoping to put only 1500-2000 down if any)... I'm looking at a hefty monthly payment for a car that is far inferior to my current... I don't even want to consider the payment if I put 0 down and do multiple security deposits.... My current lease is $426 a month for 36 months at 12k Miles with 5k at Signing...for a 2007 335i Sedan with Premium, Sport, Cold Weather, Automatic w/ Paddle Shifters, Logic 7 Hi-Fi Sound. |

How did the salesperson keep a straight face when presenting you this offer? I think that they are taking it for granted that you are good for the $5k!!
In my opinion, look at a 135i lease for the $448 per month with maybe $1,000 or less down. Maybe the lease deals on the 3 series have dried up? |

wow..someone is going on a really long vacation on that commission...here's a good tool for you http://www.leaseguide.com/calc.htm
figure out the invoice of the car and options you want(usually use kbb.com, price with options) and pay $500 over and just plug in the numbers. you can usually get the money factor for the month somewhere in this site...search

Yeah, I sat there to humor him I guess.. I was just thinking the entire time... he must think I'm incredibly stupid or something because I'm young. I told him afterward, "Why on earth would I pay 450+ with 5k at signing, when I pay 426 a month for a superior car in every respect right now...." and he said "it's the nature of the market" ... Nature of the market my ass, BMW of Bridgeport losing a customer. I might head on down to Hassel BMW of Freeport, NY or over to BMW of North Haven or even Ridgefield.. Bridgeport is a joke now, and their service department has always sucked big time. Took them 4 separate visits of 2-3 days each to replace my faulty Puma Case / SOS module.

The best I could come up with on the lease calculator was like 508 a month with 3k down. That was based on a 135i Coupe with M Sport and Premium Audio. I suppose they're running a special offer, but after taxes / fees it's never that good. |

So how much do the 225M's add to the cost? That could be a significant raise to the price of the car. Also you have so many fees due at signing, I paid $1,500 out of pocket on my lease including the first months payment.

According to the BMW USA's website, there's no additional cost for 225M vs 193M

Here is a recent post on 1addicts - I suppose with $1,000 down the payment would be closer to $560 (which includes tax) per month, but this is a fairly loaded car.
Specs: '09 135i Black with Coral Red leather and silver trim Step w/Msport wheel and paddles Sport package Premium Package Heated seats Park Distance control Ipod integration Doing a 36 month lease, 12K miles/year, $3500 out of pocket, $510/month including tax |

Yeah I'm definitely not looking for a loaded car.. in fact, I don't even want the premium package, cold weather, ipod integration, metallic paint, or even the Auto Transmission...
I am trying to price out the following: 135i with 6 Speed Manual M Sport Package Premium Audio BMW Assist + Bluetooth (Not necessary but if I find a car with it, hooray) Alpine White Black Leatherette I calculated the Invoice pricing for this on edmunds to be 36,470...and they show that people are paying about 38,280 for this particular car or close to it in my area. I figure that with my timing, and if I work the CA a little bit I might be able to find a price for around 37,100, or about 600 over invoice.. Maybe i'll get lucky and I can get something for 100-200 over invoice if they're desperate to move it. If I sent the internet manager something like this... you think I might get a bite? "Good evening, I am looking to lease a 6 speed Manual 135i with the M-Sport Package, BMW Assist + Bluetooth, and the Premium Audio System. I am looking for Alpine White with Black Leatherette and a 6 speed Manual transmission. I understand the 2009s are no longer in production, and I may not be able to find one in inventory somewhere with these specifications, so I am interested in finding something as similar in options and pricing as possible. I am looking for a 36 month, 12,000 Mile/year lease that is based on a price of 36,470 before taxes, which is the calculated invoice price on the particular car I've priced out with the options I seek. I am willing to negotiate the pricing, and I understand you can probably move this car for more than that price, but I am offering you a definite sale, as I am eligible for the Pull Ahead Program with my 2007 335i Sedan. If the price is right I would be willing to invoke that incentive in favor of leasing the new 135i, but if not, I am in no hurry. If you are interested in my business, please email me back with 135i's you currently have in inventory, or are able to acquire, and the price you are willing to deal at and I will come in as soon as possible to get things moving and work out a lease offer that works for us both. I do currently hold an offer from BMW of Bridgeport on a car very similar to the one I am trying to find, but it would be unwise of me to complete any sale without doing my homework. In any event, I look forward to hearing from you. Best Regards, Me" |

Looks good Enigma but I would also put in another sentence that states what your current lease terms are and what you would like your new lease to look like.
Something like: A three year lease with $1,000 down and $475 per month (to get the ball rolling) with 12k miles per year. It would be great if you come out close to $500 per month! |

BTW... before you go shopping around... I know everyone @ Ridgefield and can point you in the right direction... BUT... if you're already pissed @ Bridgeport, it's the same retailer (owner). If you don't care about them screwing you around down there and just want the best deal... I can send you to someone for a guaranteed $500 deal.
