I am going to refrain from using any language that's going to get me kicked off this forum. I'll just use this...

EDIT: Just to be a little helpful, I searched for a couple of minutes. Ran across this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...ta+Intake+dyno Looks like the guy ran a dyno and got +1 hp. So it is almost no power difference but sounds better and according to most people has better response. The thread didn't have the full band dyno on it, but I doubt it did much. I got bored of searching after that, as I have no desire to put this on my car.

What is your problem dude? Guys on here actually took time to post threads that they thought would be helpful...why are you acting like such an a$$? Talk about immature...that'll probably be the last time anyone on here tries to help you out. Last time I checked, we're not here for you..

Since the second thread I opened had a guy that said he was +1 on a dyno and that seems consistent with most intakes, I assumed you hadn't done a proper search. Anyway, my take: Generally intakes are for sound/throttle response, not horse power. The ones that give more initial power grab air from everywhere and power drops when the air it's pulling heats up, which it will as the intake is around the engine. There are some like the afe, and I believe the Simota, though I don't know much about it and could be mis-categorizing it, that use a heat shield to try to protect from the engine bay heat, but it still pulls a lot of air from the bay and suffer some of the same issues. They tend to vary, mostly depending on how the shielding effects the air circulation. The fully closed intakes that seem to do the best are the Dinan (requires box modification that I don't like) for something around +5 or so HP, and the BMW performance (much nicer looking and easier to install) which is +3. The BMW Performance sounds better than the Dinan, btw. Cheers
