good question. i would doubt it.. though i haven't been in the market since March and maybe it's changed.
however, i would not expect bmw to go below invoice.

Pay the invoice price, that ridiculous? I bought my 328i in 07, it was priced at $38,900 and I paid $37,000 and that's with all the expenses already included. The only difference is that I didn't lease, I paid for my car in full.

What are you trying to do? Lease or purchase?

Good God almightly, there threads come up all the time and seem to get even more absurd as time goes on. What you can buy a BMW for depends almost entirely on 3 things:
1. Your dealer's perceived demand for the car your want 2. Your dealer's inventory/allocation level and other factors (for example is it the end of the month and is your dealer a unit away from a big sales based incentive) 3. The current incentives from BMWNA All of these things change continuously. Things that absolutely do *not* matter: 1. The fact that BMW's sales are down 30 or so percent and the economy is in the crapper. I love seeing this come up in every deal post. Contrary to popular opinion there are still people in the market for these cars, and the sky is not falling. Even more importantly the supply and inventory levels of BMWs are much, much lower than they were a year ago. Everything in the car biz revolves around days supply, and right now those levels aren't in the buyer's favor the way they were 6-12 months ago. 2. The fact that some random person on an internet board paid got a better deal some number of weeks/months/years/ago. In fact, in most cases it couldn't mean less. Get some good information on incentives, inventory levels, and some patience and you will get the best deal that you can at the time, and that's all that you can do. From what I've seen there are not a lot of people reporting sale prices well below invoice right now because the incentives aren't there. Yet. Or you can just take all these account here as gospel. Let us know how your quest to get a $2K below invoice deal goes. In all seriousness, good luck with your hunt. |
