Auto Trans Selector Light

I have just had the stereo upgraded in my 320i by changing the speakers and adding an amp. On parking the car in my garage i noticed that the auto trans selector light stays illuminated permanantly. I am not sure whether I have simply not noticed this before or the installer has done something which has caused this to happen. It is only a minor thing I know but I just want to be sure that all is well as I can't find anyting in the owners manual to suggest that this should happen. A penny for your thoughts!
