ticking noise from car, not just driving
after driving the car for no matter how long, and parking it in the garage, turning the car completely off.
it begins this ticking noise, all throughout the car. not just the engine. the ticking noise is like metal pellets dropping on metal pipes. just randomly throughout the car. is it trying to cool itself or whats happening ? this normal? your bmw's make sounds after you turn it off, get out, and lock the doors? |

After you shut off the motor, friction and combustion ceases to heat the metal, therefore cooling it off considerably.
That 'ticking' is the sound of the metal contracting after expanding from the heat produced by friction and combustion. Thermodynamics. Like about post said every car does this! |
