Alarm Install Problem

I have my new-to-me '07 335xi in the shop at BMW Gallery in Norwood, MA, getting an alarm installed. The techs say they are having difficulty programing the car/alarm and have open a BMW file on it, hoping BMW will know what to do to program the car.

I have always had great experiences with this dealership with my e39, so I don't know why they are stumped by the e90.

Anyone have this experience with the alarm?

I never got my alarm programmed. On the e93, I connected the stuff under the driver side rear wheel well and the stuff in the hood. Right after that the alarm got activated. I was only missing the chirp while locking the car (which I would have got after programming).

Installing the alarm on my E93 seemed to be the catalyst for all of my window motor/JBE problems. Good luck!

Yep, but all was tickety-boo after the PuMA case, so hang in there.

And I'm guessing that coding an E9x is quite a bit more involved than an E39.

ISTA/P is the stress in BMW right now killing modules left and right during programming. Your dealer is probably have this problem getting the alarm retrofitted to the vehicle.

Just came back from the dealer with my car and I guess BMWNA squared them away with the codes and programming. My file had about 30 pages of 'stuff' they had to do but everything works including window motors (thanks for the tip).

Car sounds more beasty, too, now that everything has been re-programmed - great growl!

Thanks for the responses.
