Space Gray M3 - Different paint?
I've now seen two Space Gray M3s. Both paint jobs looked richer and more metallic than the other Space Gray cars I've seen, which can sometimes look sort of flat. Is it possible that the paint jobs on these is a higher grade, or is it just the curves on the car that make it throw off more reflections?

Is it possible one was cleaner than the other? A truly clean car makes a world of difference.
There shouldn't be any difference in the paint itself though.

could have been a different color. bmws made shades pretty simlar. like the e46 came in a color that looks like sparkling graphite at night but is much brighter in the day

its prob just lighting and how clean the cars were... a layer of dust will take away that metallic gloss that space grey should have... m3s and the other 3 series cars share the same paint... no reason why it should be different.

I have a space gray 335i.
I was driving along one day when a space gray M3 pulled up next to me at a light. We waved and drove off. The color looked exactly the same as my car. |

This seems like the best explanation. Both cars were dead clean. I thought of SG as a color that looks better than some when it's a little dirty, but I realize that just a little bit of dust will take away that depth. It is great when shiny, though.

BMW should have used the Sterling Silver that is available on the X3. It is just the right shade... right in between the lightness of Titanium Silver and the darkness of Space Gray.
