What color catches cops attention more?

Just a random thought while I was being driven in my friend's evo x. He has a blue one but as we were on the 110, we saw another lancer, not sure if it was evo or not but seemed like it from the spoiler and just a random thought popped into my head.

Would a bright blue car catch the cops attention more or a red one? I would say red just because it just contrasts more.. but that blue is still pretty noticeable too from all the whites, greys, silvers, black.

red is meant to catch attention. that is why we have red stop signs/lights, fire hydrants, fire trucks

blue is noticeable but red def stands out more

I thought it wasn't actually the color but how much it contrasts with the environment and also the mood you get from that color. Like I think red was urgency or passion or w/e lol and blue was more soothing and tranquility.

Confucius says it is not the color of the car that attracts the cops attention it is the color of who is in the car.

youre right

it is used as a symbol of urgency, cause it catches the most attention. there are tests done that say red is the most eye-catching, hence all the use of red in both positive and negative (well actually mostly negative) environments

a color has more than one symbolism. like red is the color of blood and fire. A reason why red is usually related to anger, love, heat, sin, passion. but were talking about red cars here, so im pretty sure these are not things a police officer would think about when he sees a red car haha unless its a ferrari

Light, flat colors will always catch a cop's eye the most. I mention flat because the lack of reflections and values makes a car look like it's a mass of color punching a hole through your periphery when it's driving by.

Depends. Red is naturally an attention grabbing color. That's why it's used on signs and in advertisements a lot.

I guess yeah, a light, flat red would attract more attention than what I posted. I will say that my eyes snap to a light blue car right away though...at least light blue mustangs. The paint is really something you have to see in person. I really wish it was offered on more cars in general.

To answer your question the red car but its really doesn't matter if you aren't speeding or doing anything illegal. Get whatever you want just slow down. The blue is hot btw.

Lol? It's not about me getting a car haha I have an awesome 3 month old 09 AW 335i e92! Why would I want anything else? i was just honestly curious what color grabbed the attention of cops more because I'll admit to speeding past cops and not being pulled over whereas my friends have complained about getting speeding tickets going maybe only 8-12+ speed limit. and I just got reminded because of the red and blue evo that occupied the same space

I find that darker, tinted out cars get more negative attention...

Yellow is the easiest to see in the fog, at night, etc. My car at the moment is the color of wet asphalt, so far not too bothered by cops.

On another note, it would be awesome if the Reventon was actually designed with stealth technology in mind, and would be invisible to radar

whatever color the giagantic wing is painted is the one that attracts cops

in other words - it's not the color of the car
