Idle Question (328i)
Whats up guys? I know there is another thread on an idle issue, but this is different. Sometimes when I pull up to a stoplight in my car and I throw it into neutral(6MT), the revs drop down to almost stalling the car, but I can feel the engine blip itself back up to normal idle. The car (08 328i) runs fine and I only have 4500 miles on the thing, so im thinking that mayby this isnt a big issue? Any answers would be really appreciated! Thanks

Idle can vary slightly depending on engine temperature, ambient temperatures, and fuel (among other things). It seems most 328's idle around 550-600 RPM once warmed up completely. I've seen plenty of other BMWs adjust the idle speed while stopped as you're describing, so it's not completely abnormal.
So in short, don't worry about it. But the dealer can bump your idle up just a bit (to 700-750 revs) if you're concerned. Some others here have had that done, I've never noticed this even slightly on my car so far after 17k miles.
