As in the title. I drive mainly around town with no serious traffic but a lot of stopping and starting - getting 16 mpg with a light foot. Just want to get feedback from others before I brand the car 'faulty'.

I average around 21 per my computer, you will probably get some pretty wide ranges for this question.

16 mpg ?! That sounds ridiculously low for a
335. I commute in one of the most traffic congested cities in the world and still average about 16-17 mpg. Best I got was on a road trip (19-20mpg), lowest was 15. And no, I am not the "shift straight to 7th gear" type - at least not always. Is your tire pressure abnormal? Do you have a few thousand bricks in the trunk? I thought the one advantage to a 335 would be mileage! |

23.3 MPG 75% hwy/25% city.
19.5 MPG 75% city/25% higyway the MPG are within specification of the EPA 17/26. I am pretty satisfied that it gets decent gas mileage for the amount of power this car can put down. The direct injection technology really helps. |

I was talking to my dad about his MPG tonight at Thanksgiving, and he gets around 9-11. How awful is THAT?

I usually get 21/22 mixed with fairly spirited (not crazy, sprited) driving. On long (100 mile) highway trips with light traffic 30/31 is not unusual. IMO gas mileage/horsepower is one of BMW's strengths. The mileage we get with such strong engines/horsepower is just amazing and is typically quite a bit better than other brands in this power range.

On my 328 E90, I get 26 (been tracking the past 5 months), and that's with 90% highway. =/
