What single malt do ///M owners drink?

Most of the guys in my area with M3s have empty bottles of single malt strewn about the footwells of their cars... I've seen glenfidich, glenmorangie, oban, jura... lots of others

Here's the thing. I like this stuff I can only find in Europe, its called 'the Peat Monster.'

The thing is, it's a blend of a speyside and islay singles. Can an M3 driver drink blended whisky? I've had a dram of blue label once but I think it might have made me less worthy of the ///M?

I'm in total crisis mode. I want to just finish the bottle and just try to forget about it. I fear a single single will never be enough.

Has any else here had 'the Peat Monster'? Please advise.

I'm a big fan of Oban. I also like Macallan and Springbank. Springbank is probably my favorite, though.

I do not like blended. Single malt is the only way to go.

Just pick up a nice bottle of single malt, and relax. Forget the blended stuff.

If you like peaty, Laphroaig is worth trying. Never heard of the Peat Monster, but the name already puts me off.

+1 to Lagavulin. Current fav is The Glenlivet, 12yo

I like glenlivet 12 year for daily, and 15 for the weekends. I have about a ounce or two every night. macallan is also on the menu on weekends. i used to drink with a guy who could tell you exactly what region a scotch was made in by just looking at the color!

unlike most single guys, I do like blended whiskeys as well.

Not an ///M, but I really like Dalwhiney (sp?) And it's pretty inexpensive at Trader Joe's.

Damn, that is pretty impressive. I can usually tell what region it was made in by the taste, but not the color.

YES, it seems there is a secret (and not often talked about) leaflet in every //M owners manual that states only true connoisseurs of cars can be true connoisseurs of consumer goods, like single malt whisky and forged wheels amongst other things. JK

BTW, Macallen 15 for me if I'm at home chillin'... 18 if I'm out and someone else is buying..

Peet monster sounds a little too earthy for me... I've got some buddies who like islays, etc... and I just can't get into them. Too smokey/dirty for my tastes, but whatever floats your boat.

Not like us 6cyl e90 drivers know but the balvenie 21 is nice. I got three bottles before they went up at the old price of 90$. - one left.

Colt 45 or Schlitz

If you want to go cheap on the Macalan, Costco sells a 15 year bottled at Macalan. Same as the Macalan 15 except aged in cherry instead of oak, IIRC.
