2006 330i muffler delete

I am wondering whether or not I should delete my muffler. I have heard positive and negative feed back on it.

I have read that it drones terribly, therefore not worth it. and that it sounds ricey and not real. also read that it sounds great.

I want an exhaust mod that doesnt drone bad and isnt obnoxiously loud or ricey. Been looking at magnaflows for a while, but heard they were ricey sounding. not trying to spend too much.

help me out.

"I want an exhaust mod that doesnt drone bad and isnt obnoxiously loud"..i doubt you would like the muffler delete and stay away from the eisenmann race exhaust.
people will say to buy the bmw performance exhaust. it is, imo, the best sounding exhaust but it will cost you at least $1,100+installation.

I'm getting just a resonator delete done this week. I'll let you know how it sounds and take some before and after videos. I don't think it will be that much louder if any but its only $75 so its worth a shot.

You'll get varying opinions all over the place on this, but I agree with the above. The BMW Performance Exhaust sounds fantastic and has a just-right volume to it (in my opinion) with no drone. The 3 Series is not a muscle car, and shouldn't have an obnoxious fart can exhaust - in my opinion, of course.

As said, it's one of the more expensive options though.

As stated above a resonator delete... any takes on that? does it void warranty or fail inspection?

res delete is a waste of your time and money if you are leaving your stock muffler on.

the stock muffler is 60 pounds of pure insulation. there is no upgrade out there that would make a difference unless you took all 4 of your cats off, and got new header and mid pipes, then maybe. but you would be hearing the noise inside the cabin from the headers more than you would from the note coming out the back
