cold air intake question

will an afe cold air intake void a warranty (CPO too?)? Is an intake worthless without exhaust mods? I have the pbx already, wondering if i should go with an intake as well......any suggestions/thoughts/opinions would be much obliged....

Not sure what warranty an intake would void so I don't think you should be too worried about that..

An intake by itself will offer small performance gains (think 2-3 hp) and a better sound under acceleration...it'll always work better when paired with a performance exhaust.

It will not void the warranty outright but BMW can deny the warranty if the part is proven to cause a problem on the car. So if you have an intake installed and your stock suspension gives, they will cover the suspension of course.

The intake will help open the car up further and works well with the upgraded software. I typically recommend doing intake/exhaust when upgrading to the PBX for that reason.

The aFe intake will not only increase the overall performance of your vehicle but you will also feel an instant increase in throttle response and will not void your warranty. The intake will allow for your car to breath in more cold air thus creating more overall horsepower and torque. Coupled with the PBX and an exhaust you will feel the full potential of your BMW !!!

It all depends what you expect and want

I have both A Simota CF Intake and a Remus exhaust , the exhaust was done 2 years ago and I have the Intake for about a year,

With the exhaust sound was great but not sure if I was making more power but the car felt good

When I installed the intake I was not expecting a power increase but better throttle response which I did get , but the best benefit was the sound the car sounds soooooooooo good that often I stay in a lower gear just for the fun of hearing the engine
fuel consumption has also gone down by about 1MPG , i used to average 25.6 mpg and I'm down to 24.7mpg

for the PBX I'm hearing great things and I'm sure it will take advantage of other mods done to the car
