I love my loaner
I have a 335i in the shop to have the hpfp replaced. The car is one year old. They gave me a 335i coupe and I really don't want to give it back. It seems so much quicker than mine. They are both 2009 models, both are x drive w sports package. Is it just my imagination?
Also will I notice a difference once the new pump goes in? |

I always seem to get the 328i xdrive. I dont care for that thing, the laggy pedal, boring transmission, and inefficient powertrain. Much much much much happier w/ my own car :-D

And the adaptive throttle thing probably sensed that the loaner was being beat on nearly every time it was driven so it has increased response compared to your car

It may have something to do that your fuel pump was failing. After it is replaced and if they do a software update (if needed), you should be happy with the performance that you will get.

Its a pretty remarkable thing, my mother complained about this and the SA told her to give it plenty of gas over the next few weeks and it will readjust to give you more response, pretty cool, I just wish you could do it in the computer manually.

Im very heavy on my pedal to begin with, so I dont know if this is the problem. Maybe it is the fuel pump or maybe the coupe is just quicker feeling, being that its lighter?
Isn't there a way to reset the computers memory of your driving habits? I remember reading it once, but couldn't find it? Does that void the warranty? |

I got a 335i with Dinan as my loaner not too long ago. That thing was fast...then again, coming from my 328xi, any 335 would be fast...

Changing the software in these cars changes everything.

I would say take your car back once repaired. If after a few weeks, you still think it is too slow, get JB3/Vishnu, etc.

Disconnect the battery, reconnect after a few minutes. That should do the trick.
