Are these seats real leather?

Is that how you can tell, or is there another dead give away?

The dead give away in this case is that they don't make this color in anything other than leather.

Isn't the stitching different in leather as well?

The seats are leather, specifically brown saddle Dakota, premium package, no sport package. The give away is the lumbar adjustment, which is the little black round control shown in the photo number 5 - the lumbar comes only with the premium package and the package always comes with leather seats.

Speaking of dead...my mind says an animal gave it's life for this, huh??

I'm still for leather

I actually saw leatherette at a dealer a few months ago for the first time, you really couldn't tell it wasn't leather from looking but when I sat in it I could tell and of course there was no leather smell. But they were nice cause you didn't slide around when I took it for a test drive.

The leatherette has a more pebbly, grainy texture. And as has been noted, it does not come in this colour. It's much lighter.

I don't care for the fake stuff at all. It feels like soft rubber. Putting fake leather in a BMW is like a Veggie Burger, Soy Milk, or Diet Soda. I can't get on board with any of that. Call me old fashioned but I want my Martini dry, and my steak bloody.

Neutral on the martini (I don't drink) and definitely agreed about the steak. Nothing like a fat juicy steak.

It's leather when you see some crease/ wear marks. Leatherette will barely show signs of aging.

I liek my leather..but I wish I had the sport seats..so much more comfortable..seems like premium and sport package should go together just for the seats..or at least include the seats in the premium package

Funny you mention. I actually like my non-sport seats better and I've had sport seats in all of my previous BMW's.

Leatherette generally wears better than leather, however leatherette can crack/tear in very cold climates.

Leatherette doesn't breath quite as well as leather either.
