Most Useless Accessory

Surfing the BMWUSA site, there are some seriously overpriced and useless accessories. I would have started a poll if I had that option, but what do you think is the most useless (for the money) OEM accessory?

The nominees are:

The $178 Electric Cooler/Carrier

The $59 CD Holder

The $823 Luggage Set

or

The $61 Cup Holder

i like how the cup holder is placed...above the cupholder. i would say cd holder or cupholder win for most useless. the luggage if it does fit perfectly like that is actually useful for people traveling in the drop top with the top down and need luggage.

OP
^^^ I think you are wrong about electric cooler. When I was driving for 20 hrs with my girlfriend down to Miami Florida in the heat of August, and stopping at those rest stops for a lovely picnic... it is then, those moments I wished I had an electric cooler in my car. Lets see... I could ve had nice cool fruit in that cooler... maybe nicely chilled coffee or tea, some cheese maybe? How about a ham sandwich for the road? You see, an electric cooler is for road trips, and if this cooler made by BMW, I am sure it'll perform. However, a cooler in central arm rest that is fed by cool air from AC, was very helpful on that long trip, I kept a can of Starbucks Espresso in it... or a small bottle of Poland Springs Water.

Next time I go on long roadtrip like that, I aint leaving without BMW Electric Cooler... FTW!

And automobiles can be purchased from Kia.

I have the luggage set and the cooler bag. The luggage set is an exact fit for the rear seat of the E93 and is a very useful accessory. Fitted luggage had been available for high end cars for years but this is the first time I have seen it offered for a relatively low end car at a reasonable price. What I have seen previously was Louis Vuiton grade fitted luggage for Aston Martins and Ferraris where the luggage costs almost as much as a BMW. The BMW luggage is priced a bit high but quality luggage is not inexexpensive and is not sold at Wal Mart. Also it is not hard ot get a 20% discount on BMW accessories.

I have owned similar 12V coolers and the advantage of the BMW one is that the lid does not fall off when it is laid on its side.

Cupholder ($4.97) 1,200% markup and you already have at least 4

CD Holder ($2.30) 2,565% markup

Four piece luggage set ($62 at Walmart) !,327% markup

Portable electric cooler ($84) 212% markup

Looks like the cup holder would take first place.

Let me guess. You buy your suits at Wall Mart because they are exactly the same as the ones sold by Brioni (with less Markup of course).

The WalMart Luggage is Junk and is not going to perfectly fit the rear seat of an E93.

If you want to see what quality luggage costs go to:

http://www.tumi.com/home/

But I have to say that I can't disagree about the CD holder.

I would like to know more about BMW electric cooler though. It's number one on my list to get for the car this summer. It is such cool item!

The $61 Cup Holder

It seems like a waste of money to buy a cup holder that covers the cup holder that already comes with the car.

If JB had any brains he would realize that Wal Mart was cheaper.

Hm... since I already have 4 of them in car, maybe I could get this one for $61 for the desk in my office? It'll make me feel like I'm driving my bimmer. Maybe I should get one more and mount it on my bicycle to use for my Starbucks on those Sunday bike rides for some newspaper at 7/11?

If I ever don't know what to do with my money, I'll make sure to remind myself to buy another cupholder
