Wink Just Ordered a 335is!!!

So I gave my SA in Glendale the deposit for ordering the car. He said I won't have a production number until the next couple weeks. I forgot what the order term was called. But we entered in everything in the system, so when they start building, mine will be one of the first built I guess. I wasn't paying attention that much. I really wanted an M3 tho. I guess the 335is will do. the lease rates on the M3 are HORRIBLE.

I got the Alpine white with black interior and oyster leather. Really wish they had the piano black finish, instead I got the grey poplar trim, try and keep it classy and sporty at the same time. Fully loaded with every option you can get. Brought it to $59,600. I'm gonna miss my 328i coupe. Was a great car and still fly as hell! Obviously I can't post pics until I get the car. Won't be here till june'ish.

Congrats, but what makes you think the lease rates on the 335is won't be equally as horrible as the M3? I really think BMW is going to stick it to us with the 335is rates. A loaded 335is only runs $3300 more than a loaded 335i m-sport. That is a heck of a deal considering the DCT on the 335is. Nobody in their right mind would chose the 335i m-sport apples to apples over the 335is just to save a mere $3K. For this reason, I think the lease rates on the IS will be quite bad to keep demand down and keep the model exclusive. I would say there is no way the 335is rates will be the same as a base 335.

I would say lease payments for the models will run in the following ranges depending on money down and options.

335i $450-$650
335is $650-850
M3 $900-$1100

We should know for sure in a few weeks though!

Also, based on what I've heard, you can probably expect your car early to mid July. The IS coupe starts production 5/15, and then add on 7-8 weeks for shipping and customs clearance to the west coast (assuming yours is one of the first off the production line).

Meant to ask if your dealer gave you much of a discount off MSRP? Did you get the active steering? If so, looks like you got about $4K off MSRP. If not, looks like you got about $1500 off MSRP? Good either way if you got them under the sticker price.

Damn...60k?

That's more than what my 08 335i Vert cost me. Boy the prices sure have shot up. I wonder if it would have been better to get a used 1 or 2 yo M3?

you're correct, he said my lease payment will be around $770 a month. thats still a couple hundred cheaper than the M3, although a base M3 is right around 60k. They're lease rates are so high that it doesn't make since to get one unless you buy one, which is not something that I'm going to do....... Or if u just pay the entire lease amount up front. which isn't a bad idea..... I also looked at the new X5 xdrive35i, and the price for building that to my specs and the fully loaded 335is is the same. but the lease rates are off. the truck would be at least $850 a month.

I didn't get active steering. I can't quite get used to it.

They have, and they've gotten cheaper too. I have the regular sound system in my car, its the 10 speaker system. not the logic 7. sounds decent. Tell me why they now only have 6 speakers in the 2010 models for the regular sound system? They've gotten so cheap. and that open hole where the ashtray was. looks so cheap. i'm really upset about that.

Pricing is just ridiculous on a 3er. I remember the day when a fully loaded E46 330 would max out at 45k.

Seems like a base 320i is going to cost that soon.

Congratulations! Nice choice of color. I remember when BMW was doing 1.9% financing and it sucked because it didn't apply on an M3 or else i would be driving one of
those.

he said if its an issue with the trim then he will call me. I don't want the grey sport trim. I'm sure it won't be a problem. If so then it will be changed on delivery.

One of the main reasons I want to avoid the 335is is the fugly aluminum fishscale trim. If you're able to get wood trim, please keep us updated!
