Post Help Needed On 335i Coupe Order

I purchased a new Monaco Blue 335i Coupe on 10/24/06. It is now 11/6/06, 12 days passed, and my order status is still on order from BMW's owner circle tracking info. Now the guy i bought my car from said it should not take longer then 6 weeks max (42 days), so my question is, how long did you guys have to wait for your order to come in and did the status from the owner's circle change at all?

07 335i Coupe (Convienient W/ The Things Best Fit In My Opinion)
Monaco Blue
Aluminum Trim (Needed the screws for carbon fiber int. swap)
Gray Leather
Sport Package
Premium Package
Cold Package
Navigation
Auto W/ Paddle
Comfort Access

Didn't Get:
Power Shade: Not needed because i will be getting tints.
Active Cruise: Convienient but come on now, who is that lazy to drive, expecially with a BMW?
PDC: You can never completely rely on a computer to do these type of things for you.
Active Steering: Smart idea, but i would rather in my opinion, stick with the normal handling feeling so to say.

Owners circle is not reliable.

Looks like a great color combo. Very Germanic! Alu or wood?

Just have them show you where your order is on the DAR ( dealer activity report) it's updated daily, and they can fax you a copy of the page showing your car by production number, the options and the week it's scheduled to be built. They can also design an MSRP of your car so you can verify it that way as well.If everything is correct, you usually get your car 30 days from the build week, maybe a little less for the east coast and a little more for the west coast.Enjoy your car !

8 weeks is more realistic. I ordered my 335i on 9/23, it didnt go into production until 19 days later, but it got through production in about 8 days, and is now happyily chugging its way across the ocean. I expect it to land at the docks on 11/20 per my CA, and I should have it 8 days later here in Phoenix. So, right at 2 months and few days.

That happened to my aunt's 2k2 M3, lubrication issues. Hopefully your situation is not typical, because the other car forums love these reports and continue to bash the 335. Hate for them to have ammunition but it's life.

Based on other guys experiences, I can say I'm lucky because I ordered on 10/16 and went into production on 10/18.

It will take between 5 or 6 weeks before delivery...keep my fingers crossed!!

hl0m4n, where in the USA are you? If you are near the west coast expect it to take 4-5 weeks to get your car after production finishes (which takes about 1 week)

Went Scheduled for Prod Friday

I gave the deposit to the dealer 10/6/06, they ordered 10/11-10/12. It sat on the owners circle as "on order" until last Friday morning(maybe Thursday, didn't check), and before that it spent the first week as a different color, but I am told that was just the generic order they put in to hold a production spot. I now have a VIN and according to the dealer I am on track for a total of 8 weeks(presumably from 10/12). I feel your pain, 4 weeks for it to show "scheduled" was excruciating! I kept figuring something was wrong and I am still a bit skeptical about the 8 weeks, which stinks because my current infiniti goes back on the 25th of this month. Not sure about all of the rumors about delays and if it has anything to do with options, but if it helps....Jet black, Black Leatherette, 6sp, sports pack, nothin else(trying to keep the cost as minimal as possible, and it still costs ~$1500 more than the 99 M3 we ordered many years back(I couldn't afford the new m3 in '03, so I had to go with a 6sp G35 coupe). Good Luck!
