Facebook is creepy

I can't post anything that's on my mind anymore without it coming back on me. People from work friend me, so I can't say anything bad about work. My friends have close relatives on their lists, so I can't say anything that might embarrass them or get them into trouble. I can't even have a political discussion without someone jumping in and getting hostile.

I dumped about half my friends list, I'm thinking of deactivating entirely. What is the point of a site like this if you can't write anything worth saying without it being repeated or attacked?

The funny thing is that here, where only a couple of people know me IRL, I am far more free to be honest. It's not about shit-talking people or bitching about something at work. It's as simple as as being able to post a thought without it being scrutinized.

Yeah. What are you supposed to do when your boss friends you...ignore it? Luckily my boss is really cool, she wouldn't care if I complained about work. Not many are in the same situation...complaining about work can get you on the shit list.

I reactivated my account after like 4 months, shit is so boring on there now. I'm probably going to deactivate it again, for good this time. Too much drama, chicks I've dealt with in the past, shit is wack. Plus its spam nation on there. It's definitely not what it used to be.

Deactivated for those very reasons about 3 years ago and haven't looked back. The only networking site I'm still on is linkedin

I don't know how all you guys have this facebook drama. Add only who you know, remove shady people, block content you dont want certain people to see, etc. I have zero drama. Facebook can be a lot of fun but you have to make it that way.

i don't use facebook for it's intended purpose of posting a bunch of pics of myself and writing stuff on my wall everyday since i don't like people getting in to my shat. i mostly use it so i can spy on other people.

every post I make on facebook goes through a strict mental screening process examining every aspect... its so damn annoying 'will this offend a friend?' 'will it come of to strong?' 'will I kill the convo and look like a total loser?' 'will it be funny to me but no one else??'

so i use it very little now :P

Exactly... What's the point of it, then? To collect a bunch of friends you never talk to? To play Farmville?

Also, Twitter. I used to use Twitter if I was going to go online and play COD4 or to let my friends know I was on my way to somewhere to meet them, etc. Once Twitter announced that they are saving every single message and giving them to the Library of Congress to be kept forever, I stopped using it. It's so creepy.
