Anyone doing anything special for mom on Mother's Day?

Hey guys, just wondering about what plans you all had for your mom's for Mother's day (I'm sure there won't be any spoilers since none of them probably read stuff on this site anyway ). With all the other woman bashing on here, I think this should prove a decent contrast

Don't mean to bring anyone down but this will be the fourth year I don't have my mom here with me, and it always gets rough around this time. I know she's in a better place now but it still gets hard, just wondering what you guys have to give to the only woman in your life that should always matter, one way or another

Ughh. I was drunk at my dad's birthday dinner last month and agreed to go out to their house and plant my mother's garden. This may not sound like a big deal. I will be using a hand tiller and hand shovel to plant a 12x40ft garden. That is what I will be doing most all day today and tomorrow. Fuck. Why couldn't I have just cooked dinner as per usual haha.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

LOL.

Or better yet, just take her out somewhere, why do you have to cook?

But thanks man. Probably gonna head out to the cemetery tomorrow. That's a big ass garden though. 40? Ouch

Oh really?

A man that cooks is a man in demand lol. My dad is in the process of passing down the Jamaican ways of cutlery. I've got a few things down.

Hey man sorry for your loss. I'll be spending time with my mom. I feel for you though, just think about the good times that you had with her. I think that the only woman in the world that will be there by your side no matter what is your mom, no other woman matter.

Thanks a lot man, I do appreciate it. I always do, its just that sometimes, you know, certain songs come on and certain things I see remind me of her so vividly.. But a mother should be the only woman in your life that you don't maliciously disrespect or blatantly disregard, because without her there is no you. Have fun with your mom!

I love cooking as well but won't be doing any of that tomorrow, we're going to my grandma's Mother's day is always the first holiday she's back from Texas for so everyone gets together to grill

There's a local 5k run/walk supporting breast cancer tomorrow and I was gonna run it anyway, but since my mom had always been talking about getting in better shape but not doing anything about it I paid for her registration on the condition that'd she'd start training with me so we're gonna run it tomorrow morning

Sorry to hear your mom is no longer with us, sometimes I don't know what I'd do without mine...who do you call when you can't find something in the grocery store?

Grandma's house ftw! What I wouldn't do for some grilled stuff right now But that's awesome that you guys are going together, good bonding time!

But thanks man, some things in life happen and they change your perspective on life. Death is one of those things. When I can't find something in the grocery store, I keep looking until I find it. My dad was usually the one who did the shopping/cooking

Thanks Boost, I agree. She's opened so many gateways for me thus far and I am very grateful to have the things that I have and the values and insight that I do, and it is only because of her.

Sounds good! A gift card is usually one of my first and last resorts, for any occasion Why don't you buy some movies, too?

I'm going to a nice lunch with mom, sister's family, and aunt. And then taking mom to watch Iron Man 2.

Sorry for your loss, OP.
