Picked up my 2010 Vert...But...(Rant)
Over the weekend I drove 7.5 hours from Dayton, OH to Davenport, IA to drop of my '07 Sedan lease and pick up my new 2010 335i Vert (The car was a dealer demo/ owner joy rider and the dealer wouldn’t transfer it if you are wondering why I drove to get it). I then got to drive all the way back to Dayton over the next couple days making stops in Louisville and Indianapolis to visit family. 1500 miles later, I get home and decide to wash the coating of bugs off my front bumper (there were so many that you could actually smell them ). One of the stipulations on my contract was that the car had to be fully detailed before I took delivery, since it was a demo. While I was washing it I realized that the water was not beading at all on the paint...not normal for a car that was supposedly just clay bar’d. I started investigating and realized the interior had been vacuumed but the mats were all dusty, there were sticky spots in the rear seat, and the glove box smelled like a box of altoids...I called the dealer in Iowa and started questioning them about the supposed 'detail' they had performed. I was re-assured that they went over the interior 4 times and had it professionally clay bar'd...I finally got extremely pissed and called bull shit at which point they instantly caved and offered to pay for the car to be detailed at my local dealer. Good and bad I suppose...Good in the fact that I am getting a proper detail for free...bad that they were trying to scam me.
To add insult to injury I hang up the phone and get into the car to pull her back into the garage only to experience a LONG CRANK! It has now happened about 3 times over the past couple days so now along with my detail I will be getting a new HPFP when I take the car into the dealer...The frequency of the long cranks is so great that there is no way the dealer could not have known about it. Other than these initial woes, I must say I LOVE the E93 and can’t wait to get her back from my local dealer who I know will make things right.

Yeah, I wish I would have made a bigger deal about it at the dealer but it was already noon and I had an 8 hour drive ahead of me so I gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Trust me - you got the better end of the stick, anything the dealer would have done to detail your car, you didn't want anyway - you will end up with a much better detail. As for the HPFP, goes with the territory, but a day at the dealer hopefully with a loaner and you will be good (at least for a while, hopefully the new model pump will sort you!).
Enjoy - still love my e93 2 years in!
