E90 vs E92 ZSP suspension
OK, now I think I'm going crazy.
I have an e92 loaner (09 328i) since my e90 is in the shop. I first noticed that the seats (both with ZSP) are wider at the hips. To prove this, I've measured the seats and will measure the ones on my car when I get it back tomorrow. Then, on the drive home, I noticed that the suspension isn't as "tight". I went over a bump on the way home that usually hurts when taken with my car but the e92 went over it as if the suspension were a bit softer and didn't really hit as hard. It felt like the car doesn't even have the ZSP suspension (but I know it has the ZSP because the seats have the adjustable thigh support in the front). Can it be possible that the "same" sports suspension is different on both cars? Did they make the ZSP suspension different in 09 than they did in 06? Is it a coupe vs sedan thing? Thanks! |

Xdrive will have a badge, no? The car has no xdrive badge.
The rims are 18" on the e92, 17" on mine. I would think that the 18" rims would make the ride a bit stiffer, not cushion it. I drove out a bit ago and went over a stretch of road that normally feels pretty bumpy in my car, but was smoother in the e92. Could it be that my suspension is wearing out and thus stiffer? |
