Just wanted to say goodbye to everyone.

Have had lots of electrical problems with my 06 325i. Some that came and went mysteriously. Even the dealer did not know why the problems showed up and then disappeared (they had the car for 2 days, first day all sorts of error codes, 2nd day no errors and they didn't do anything at all - by their own admition).

Traded in for 08 Acura TL with Nav. It drives about 8/10 as sporty as the bimmer, 11/10 in comfort, but has way more features - all of which work.

I know, it's a different car altogether, and I could have bought an 08 3 series with nav. However, Acura was much more affordable in that direct comparison.

Hope everyone has good luck with their bmw's. Maybe I will be back some day.

Sorry to hear about all the problems with the 3. Probably best to dump it. Good luck with the TL.

BMW's are notorious for electrical problems, so I'm not surprised.

Too bad they couldn't solve the issue, never been a fan of the TL's.

Doesn't BMW use Siemens for it's electronics? I think they suck. I wonder who Porsche uses because their cars are pretty solid.

I had an 02 CL type S. Rides pretty comfortable and Hondas have pretty good reliability records. TL's doors and trims don't always line up the best but their still good cars in my mind. Good luck.

Yeah, I loved the way my rwd 325 drove. That's why I said TL is 8/10 sporting drive.

But TL was good balance of drive/loads of features/reliability/price. Styling is like it or leave it. I actually like it - bought Moroccan Red.

hope you atleast got a type S...I think if I were in the same situation I would've went with Infiniti. I don't see how you can live without RWD.

Did they replace the battery? Many -- but not all -- of my electrical poltergeists went away with a new battery.

Both my wife and I own stock in Honda, so we thank you for your confidence in our car company!

Had an Acura Integra a while back - no complaints at all. Even the tires were in good shape after 60,000 miles. 28mpg on regular gas.

To me, most German cars are ingeniously designed for spirited driving, assembled with high quality materials that are infuriatingly failure prone. As if there was some cost cutting in the manufacturing process that is hidden beneath the surface.

I have an '08 ("third year 325i") that had plenty of electrical poltergeists. Some, but not all, have been exorcised by my new battery.

I was paging through my Bentley service manual yesterday. I'm not sure that this is a car I'll want to own out of warranty.

Go take a driving class. You might have to get used to torque steer.

just kidding. TL is a great car. I love everything about that car except for the drivetrain layout. I honestly think TL is superior to BMW in everything else besides performance.

I HATE torque steer and front wheel drive, you cant do anything. Feels like your car is having a seizure when you floor it. I had a 02 CL Type S and that thing was a piece of shit, I drove it into Lake Austin last week when I got my 335
