Looking for a good deal on a Canon EOS 400D / Digital Rebel XTi
Newegg has a silver one on sale for 767.99...
I'm not too picky about the color, but I think the black one looks better. Anyone know of any good places to snag a deal on one? Butterfly Photo appears to be the cheapest for a black at 748.00, according to pricegrabber. http://www2.butterflyphoto.com/shop/...18-55mm%20Lens EDIT Considering just getting the body for 677 and then forking out for a better lens like the EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. Opinions?

I would just go by pricegrabber, I don't think you're going to find them much cheaper then that. I wish I could of got my XT in black. I don't know why I wanted silver at the time, but whatever, camera is still great. You'll love your XTi, my cousin and his friend just bought one, great cameras!

Maybe I'll just get the body and get a EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens...

So, not the best thing in thw world to order at 4 am. Apparently it wont ship for 1-2 weeks which means a delivery date of after new years. I was hoping to actually have it for new years...

Can you resell them for anything close to the 80 you pay for it? I already bought the Canon 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 EF IS USM lens, so thats already 300 bucks.
The next best place for the body is butterfly and its $686.95 and they wont even have them until the end of the week. Maybe I might just hold out until it arrives from Dell.

looks like it
hell you may even want to keep it for the 18-28mm wider angle. you never know till you just take pictures for a while and figure out which lens you end up using most |

I jumped on that deal from Dell just last week. If you've never played around with a SLR before, I would recommend you order the kit lens. It will allow you to do most of everything you want to do with it, although not exceptionally well, but good enough for the beginner. Then from there, figure out what type of pictures you like to take and choose a lens based off that.
If you don't get the kit lens, I would recommend the Canon 50mm 1.8f lens. It's only $70 from amazon and it takes remarkable shots. The build and feel are crap, but you can't beat the speed, along with the optics for that price. The only drawback is that it's not a zoom lens, so I guess it's not as versatile as the kit lens. Hope this helps.

On a side note, their chat support is one thousand times better than any of their phone support services...
