Lightbulb Simple battery disconnect question

Hey Guys,

This may sound like a dumb questi... wait, scratch that - this IS a dumb question:

HOW DO I DISCONNECT THE BATTERY?

Does anyone have any pictures - I have searched the forums for a thread on that, but there's no actual HOW TO that I have found.

Pls help, i have to go away for a couple of months and don't want my baby to die on me

Anyone?

It looks kinda confusing in there... It's nothing like my Honda...

Perhaps just draw some arrows on pictures already up on the site... like:

(not the best I know)...

Thanks in advance.

Here it what I did...follow the red cable going into into the black cover...(on the top) and you can see it go in...there is a cover over the connection that you pop towards the outside of the car (gas tank) just pops right up....grab a wrench and take that connection off.

EDIT : Heres a Pic

Shouldn't discharge at all...but it is bad to let cars sit for so long..you might want to get someone to come and start it for you everynow and then....

P.s Fill up your gas tank before you go too....Condinsation can form if it gets cold enough and you may have water accumulate in the gas tank...highly unlikely but still possible...

Enjoy your trip and merry christmas to you too!!!

when you reconnect the battery, it is a good idea to have the lights or radio on so all the power doesn't go to the computer....reportedly this can fry the CPU.

You can also go buiy something called a trickle charger, it'll keep your battery topped off and at peek voltage. Costs like $40 for the nice one. That way u can keep your alarm if u have one and anythign else powered up while keeping the battery charged, it detects the level of the battery and when it reaches a certain low point it'll top it off and then turn off and monitor. It jsut keeps cycling. Battery Tender is what I use, Use it for my quad and my street bike also.
